For the last year or so, I’ve been trying to get into better shape. The last few months of me living in Guatemala, which was the first 6 months of the pandemic, I wound up losing 30 pounds. I didn’t plan on this, but I don’t really know enough of the language to order food to my house, and most of the restaurants that I went to were closed. I also lived off some random path off of a street that I didn’t know the name of, so basically ordering any bad food wasn’t going to happen! This is how I lost 30 pounds during the pandemic while most people gained that much.

I had to go back to the States for a year to deal with some family issues and while I was there I got a job delivering motorhomes from Northern Indiana to dealerships all over Florida. (for the most part, I delivered other places, but chose Florida because most of my friends and family are there and was able to sleep over before heading back to Indiana) While driving, you can’t really eat well, so I started to gain weight. I was basically couch surfing for the year and couldn’t really make the food that I wanted to eat, so I ate like shit.

I joined Planet Fitness and started to go every day. I wanted to make it a habit, like brushing your teeth. I wasn’t going to gain muscle, I was going to stave off the atrophy. You see, I have a disease called Charcot Marie Tooth disease. I know, it’s got a funny name, but it is what it is. You can read about it here.

Since I’ve learned how to lose weight and now have learned how to gain muscle, I’m going to combine the two pieces of knowledge and see if I can transform my body. I liked how I looked and felt at 171 pounds and I liked seeing muscles on my arms. Shit, I even started to see a vein forming!

I’m going to document this transformation as I really don’t know what’s going to happen. I hope it all turns out well. I’ll keep posting articles as I do things. Wish me luck!
